For ISH
I not too long ago wrote a piece about women being careful what kind of groups they are in and how to sieve what women leaders tell them. I ended the post with “to be continued” because there was more (Please see here). I have repeatedly postponed writing the continuation but have been greatly burdened. It seemed every time I went out, events were being orchestrated to remind me to declare what I knew God was impressing in my heart. I was still stubborn….UNTIL it became unequivocally clear that it’s time I speak.
I keep saying it that I’m an advocate for men being EVERYTHING God has called them to be; providers, leaders, protectors, prayer champions, beacons of light and so much more, thus this post is not with an intention to bash or attack but to sound a warning as I have been directed.
You see, I mentioned in the said previous post that Vashti missed it and Esther was used by God to replace her especially because divine events were in the offing. What I didn’t say was that men get replaced too. Sadly so! Sometimes, heaven has greatly invested in a woman through trainings, life, divine events and a man in a sense becomes her custodian through marriage and he doesn’t realize that heaven has given him a treasure. It’s a sensitive position he’s in and doesn’t even realize it.
Er and Onan though sons of the kingdom, were wicked men. The Bible didn’t give the details of their wickedness but you can imagine the sort of person Onan was when he was told to take his late brother’s wife to raise a seed in his name. He was willing to gain sexual pleasure but would spill the semen on the ground lest she actually got pregnant. No one else saw it but God (Genesis38:1-10).
Abigail was obviously a prudent wife from The Lord. Do you ever wonder how her husband was described as a fool YET he was prosperous? Perhaps because there was a wise woman in the background either giving and administering counsel or whom heaven was bestowing favour upon. This man Nabal put her life in jeopardy and heaven’s council decided it was enough with his foolishness. He was replaced, and a king was given to Abigail. One who knew her worth and was touched by her wisdom. Nabal was also a son of the chosen kingdom.
I don’t want to over flog it but a GREAT CRY has come up to God from women…good women who have done ALL to stand, women who have swallowed and embodied the injunction of “submit” but have had their submission reciprocated with infidelity, maltreatment, verbal, physical and emotional abuse, extortion, bullying, gross oppression. This has saddened the heart of God and caused the name of the Lord to be profaned among the heathen; that supposed “sons” whose standards are to be reckoned as above board have become questionable.
Sadly, they’re inexcusable because they ought to know better. Some of them came out of backgrounds that was supposed to make them resolute in not repeating the same mistakes. They have now become the women beaters they saw in their fathers, the philanderers they detested in their uncles, infesting their wives with diseases. Some attained wealth and forgot The God Who gave them power to make wealth. Church is no longer in their schedules, neither is there Fire on the family altar. Their wives are now the priests in the home and for some, the wives are also the providers. This is the worst!!! Your wife is feeding you, schooling your children, hustling for your family and it’s no longer a phase nor temporary. You have become comfortable with it. Your food portion is the largest and you wolf it down without remorse or grimace, you shamelessly demand her earnings as your right, you beat her on top of it and don’t help lighten her burden in the home.
You watch her do tasks and work that were never designed for her frame. You forget your prayers are hinged on treating your wife properly and as the one with a weaker frame (1Peter3:7). And when things don’t go right, she’s your spleen venting board and punching bag; A daughter of Zion???!!!?. The sadder part is, she stays and takes it and prays and prays for you to change and still keeps shouldering both hers and your responsibilities.
There’s no long statement to you if the above describes you as a man. Just a simple “Repent!”. Please change! Because when heaven begins to move, make sure you’re not found wanting….ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE NAMED BY THE NAME OF THE LORD
